Marybert School, Lalitpur, Nepal
MSH has supported Marybert School, 110 student’s age 4 to 12 years old, and an orphanage, looking after 19 children, in Kathmandu since July 2007. Since MSH started to assist the school 33 additional children have been able to attend with schools fees and uniforms being provided, the environment in which the children learn has been improved with a toilet block being built, educational standards have been greatly improved with the provision of stationery and the a new library built which is filled with new educational books.

MSH also provides lodging, clothes and food for 4 of the orphans. Sabrina Thapa, School Principal, thinks MSH has greatly improved standards at the school and continues to look to provide very much need support to increase not only the environment in which the children learn but also the standard of education through much needed equipment.

Sabrina hopes for in the future that MSH maybe able to assist with the provision of; computers and a computers classroom to enable children from Grade 1 to have computer lessons in their curriculum, games providing children with the opportunity to work as a team, improve coordination and also have fun! A school vehicle so more children can be brought to the school and the eventual upgrade of the school to secondary level so the children can complete their education at the school.

ANY OTHER HELP SCHOOL IS SEEKING FROM MSH?

The school is always looking to increase educational standards and with this would like computers and a computer classroom to enable children from Grade 1 to have computer lessons in their curriculum. Secondly games for the juniors and seniors as this provides children with the opportunity to work as a team, improves coordination and also fun! Third, the school would really benefit from a vehicle so more children can be brought to the school and finally assistance to upgrade the school to a secondary level.

IMPACT IN THE SCHOOL AND THE CHILDREN AFTER HELP FROM MSH

MSH has massively improved the environment in which the children learn in through improved hygiene facilities with a new toilet block, to new and additional tools increasing the standard of education, to an identity with school uniforms and increased numbers of children being able to attend with the support of school fees for some of the children.
